Meet Abby

My name is Abby Loberg, and I’m a Colorado native. I was born and raised in Fort Collins, graduated with a degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado in 1992, and moved up to Grand County in 1993. I made my home in Grand County, and worked at the Grand County Assessor’s office in 1997-98, and started teaching at East Grand Middle School in 2001. I’ve been  teaching U.S. History and Civics to 8th graders ever since. This year I’m retiring from teaching, after a long and satisfying career in education.

When I learned that Sarah Rosene was retiring as our County Clerk after a thirty-year career, I realized it would be important to have someone to fill her shoes that understands the importance of election integrity in the democratic process. Since I’ve been teaching that for over twenty years, and that was my degree in college, I felt this was the right career direction for me.

I have chosen to live in Grand County for my entire adult life because I love it here. I’ve raised my kids here, and taught a couple thousand local students too. This is my home, and you are my neighbors. I want to ensure that we  will all continue to have confidence in our elections, fair and equal access to voting, and convenient and professional recording services at the county level, for years to come.
